In Francia, nel XIII secolo, un malvagio vescovo feudale si innamora di
Isabella d'Angiò. Ma il cuore della bella appartiene al capo delle
guardie Etienne. Il vescovo scaglia una maledizione sui due poveretti:
lui è condannato a vagare di notte sotto forma di lupo, lei a
trasformarsi in falco durante il giorno. I due amanti sono destinati
quindi a non incontrarsi più sotto spoglie umane. Poi Etienne incontra
il ladruncolo Philippe che, con l'aiuto del monaco-mago Imperius, salva
la vita prima al falco, poi al lupo.
