Durante gli scavi per la metropolitana di Roma, crolla una parete e si apre una breccia su una necropoli. Quattro archeologi Lasky, Barbara, Marcus e Andrea alla ricerca di una non meglio identificata tomba di Domiziana, fanno l'ipotesi che possa fare parte della necropoli venuta alla luce per caso. Al termine di avventurose ricerche, una tomba viene finalmente rinvenuta, ma mentre si stanno svolgendo gli accertamenti del caso avvengono strani fenomeni.
