Una donna fa ritorno con la sua famiglia al suo paese natale per restaurare un vecchio orfanotrofio e farne un centro dedicato ai bambini disabili. Il nuovo ambiente eccita la fantasia di suo figlio, che comincia a intrattenersi con una specie di "amico invisibile". Ma quando le fantasie cominciano a farsi più disturbanti la donna comincia a realizzare che qualcosa minaccia la sua famiglia.
